JAMMU, May 26: The annual Jag of Swami Mirzakak Ji Maharaj a spiritual saint of medieval Kashmir was performed with full religious fervour and gaiety.
In this connection the religious functions were held at Swami Ji’s original shrine in village Hangalgund in Anantnag district of South Kashmir where his Samadhi exists and at his Nagrota Asthapan near here today.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Nagrota Asthapan to participate in the celebrations.
The function was organized by Swami Mirzakak Ji Trust Hangalgund camp Jammu. On the occasion a Mahayagya was also performed. The hawan started yesterday evening and it concluded with Puranahuti this afternoon.
The devotees were served Prashad after Puranahuti. They also performed pooja archana at the Asthapan. There was bhajan Kirtan for the entire night in the Asthapan in which a large number of devotees participated.
The devotees from different parts of Kashmir Valley also thronged the Swami Ji’s shrine at Hangalgund village where also a hawan was performed on the occasion. The Hawan started yesterday evening and despite the heavy down poor there was a huge rush of devotees on the shrine. They were served with prashad after Puranahuti this afternoon.
Swami Mirzakak Trust president Bushan Lal Hangloo and its secretary Avtar Krishan Raina have demanded construction of a Dharma Shala at Hangalgund shrine of the Swami Ji for the devotees who visit there to pay their obeisance to this great saint from time to time.
