Annual Jag of Swami Mirzakak observed with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, May 14: The annual 195th Jag of Swami Mirzakak, popularly known as Kak Sahib was observed with religious fervour and gaiety at Swami Ji’s Nagrota Asthapan today.
The devotees from different parts of Jammu thronged the Asthapan from early in the morning to pay obeisance to this great saint of medieval Kashmir.
The function was organised by Swami Mirzakak Trust Hangalgund /Jammu under the chairmanship of its president, Bushan Lal Hangloo. The Trust had made all arrangements for visiting devotees who participated in day long Puja -Archana and Bhajan Kirtan. The devotees were served with Prashad also.
Speakers threw light on the spiritual life of Swami Ji and his Vaakhs. They said Swami Ji was a mystic saint who had made a prophecy to spell doom for the tyrant Afghan rulers in Kashmir at that time. They said Swami Ji was a great spiritual authority who kept the Vaakh Parampara (tradition) of Kashmiri mystic saints alive.
It may be recalled that after the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Valley a replica of Swami Ji’s Asthapan was constructed at Nagrota by the Trust.
Symbolic Puja was also performed at Swami Ji’s Samadhi at Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag by his devotees.
