KISHTWAR, Aug 19: Annual Charri and Akhand Jyot of Shri Machail Mata reached Atholi today evening.
The holy mace of the Machail Mata reached Kishtwar town yesterday evening for the annual special prayers at the shrine.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Harmeet Singh Mehta welcomed the Machail Mata Yatra in the town.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramood Kumar besides various other officials also remained present on the occasion.
This year due to the COVID-19 threat, the pilgrimage was conducted with the strict observance of Coronavirus pandemic protocols and avoiding the unnecessary congregation has been ensured to prevent any unprecedented exigency in view of spreading pandemic.
Chhari Mubarak’ (Holy Mace of Machail mata ), being carried by a limited group of Management Committee members will arrive at the holy Machail Mata Mandir on 22 August 2020 and after performing the annual prayer ceremony in the shrine, the Charri will depart to Jammu on the 24th August, informed the officials of Sarva Shakti Sewak Sanstha.
