Sir,
Generally, there are two types of disasters viz Natural and Man-Made. But there is one more disaster and that arises out of Man-Animal conflict. Such a kind of disaster could be termed as “Animal Made Disaster.” In this disaster, every one knows, human life is targetted and victimized wildly particularly by wild animals.
So far as “Animal Made Disaster” is concerned the human life in cities is safe. But in rural areas the precious life of poor and innocent ruralities is frequently attacked by the wild animals and irreparable loss is caused to their person and rural society. Their pet animals and cattle are also preyed and crops destroyed in the fields every now and then. The ruralities live in constant fear and stress. The human life even during the broad day light is not safe in such areas.
In the ever-increasing Man-Animal conflict the Governmental agencies too stand by the wild animals in the name of protection, preservation and promotions of wild life to maintain the Mother Nature’s balance. Undoubtedly the sympathy is genuine and cause is noble. Yet it should not be done at the cost of human life. The situation is alarming and worrisome. The human life is being forcibly sacrificed. A fool-proof solution to the very serious and complex issue is imperative. We should ensure safety to the human life and property from the wild animals attacks. In fact, the rural human life is living in a true ‘Jungle Raj’.
The unsympathetic trend towards human life needs prompt change. Early measures to prevent the “Animal Made Disaster” should be adopted. We are a civilized society. We should not shut our lids over the loss of another human being in this way. Let us feel the pain of such victims. Not even a single life should be lost in this manner. The ruralites should be imparted awareness and training to meet the challenges of “Animal Made Disaster”. If they are fully acquainted, they themselves would be able to check and control such kind of disaster.
Yours etc…
