JAMMU, Dec 20: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and vice president of the party, Anil Dhar today resigned from the basic membership of the NC in protest against the recent remarks of former Chief Minister and NC president, Dr Farooq Abdullah that Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out from Valley by then Governor of J&K, Jagmohan.
Dhar has sent his resignation letter to Dr Abdullah in which he pointed out that the leadership of NC has lost interest in the cause of Kashmiri Pandits. The letter while referring to the statement of Dr Abdullah that late Jagmohan the then Governor of J&K was responsible for exodus of KPs from Valley in 1990 said that this was contrary to the fact that Pakistan and its proxies are still responsible for the migration and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Valley.
He further said that various statements and utterances from the NC leadership don’t instill any sense of confidence in the Kashmiri Hindus who have faced the worst kind of persecution, genocide and mayhem for over last 30 years and also lost their homes and hearts.
He also alleged that party vice president, Omar Abdullah latest statement also reflects communal overtones and at times give a feeling of bias against the Hindus.
Dhar said in view of these statements he has lost faith in the party leadership and hence resigns from its basic membership.
