JAMMU, Apr 1: A jury comprising eminent Dogri writers unanimously selected Ashok Angurana’s book of poems in Dogri entitled ‘Mokla Gass Uchchi Doari’ for the prestigious Prof Ram Nath Shastri Memorial Award 2021.
The Award is given every year under the aegis of Dogri Sanstha Jammu and is instituted by the family members of late Shastri. It is given to the best of the books from the publications of the authors in the past five years. The Award carries a cheque of Rs. 21,000, a memento and a shawl.
The Awardee of this year, Ashok Angurana is a retired IAS officer, who held various prominent positions in the State and Centre, prior to his superannuation.
He has been writing prolifically Dogri poetry for the past few years and has earned name and fame in the literary circles.
The Award will be presented to Angurana on April 15, 2021-the birth date of late Shastri, in a ceremony to be held in Kunwar Viyogi Hall of Dogri Sanstha at Karan Nagar, Jammu.
