Angral takes up issues with Union Minister

JAMMU, Aug 2: Chairman Standing Social Justice Committee, Jammu Municipal Corporation Jeet Kumar Angral met Leader of the House Rajya Sabha, Member Parliament and Union Minister of Social Justice Empowerment Dr Thawar Chand Gehlot.
Angral handed over a letter to Gehlot drafted by Standing Social Justice Committee members pertaining to the needs and issues being faced by the people belonging to ST, SC, OBC and other weaker sections of the society in J&K.
Chairman also proposed some amendments that can be made in the State and Central Government schemes so that they can be more beneficial for the people belonging to ST, SC, OBC and other weaker sections of the society.
Angral also expressed concern over lack of funds in many State and Central Government Schemes. He also demanded that about 15000 pension cases pending under different schemes within JMC needs to be cleared. He also said that funds for vocational training and skill development centres for SCs/STs and OBCs and other weaker sections of society should be provided. He also demanded construction of atleast 4 hostels for deserving students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and poor families and increase in funding for Prosthetic Aid Scheme.
Union Minister Dr Thawar Chand Gehlot agreed to the demands raised by Angral and assured to discuss the same with the Governor of J&K for implementation accordingly.
