JAMMU, Apr 10: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association affiliated to Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh is going to hold demonstration against the BJP leadership and J&K UT Administration on April 12 as Government failed to address the long pending demand of salary hike of the Anganwadi workers and helpers.
They pointed out that the remuneration of the Anganwadi workers and helpers has not been revised since 2010 whereas all the neighbouring states have revised state share. At present Haryana state share to the Anganwadi workers is Rs 8161 plus Rs 4500 Central Govt and total Rs 12661 per month is being given as wages/ remuneration to the Anganwadi workers in Haryana.
In Delhi, the state share is Rs 6720 plus Rs 4500 Central Govt share and total Rs 11,220 per month is being provided to them in Delhi.
Punjab State share is Rs 3650 plus Rs 4500 Central share and total Rs 8150 is being provided to the workers in Punjab. In Himachal Pardesh, State share is Rs 4500 plus Rs 4500 Central share and a total Rs 9000 per month is being provided to the Anganwadi workers in HP.
But unfortunately, in Jammu Kashmir UT share is just Rs 600 and Rs 4500 is Cental Share and they are getting Rs 5100 per month.
The Anganwadi workers Welfare Association has decided to hold protest demonstration against the UT leadership of BJP who have no sympathy with poor working class and it is also alleged that UT administration which is working under BJP Govt also failed to consider the demands of Anganwadi workers. The Association general secretary and president have appealed to all the workers and helpers to assemble at Main Stop, Gandhinagar in Jammu and participate in good number in the demonstration on April 12.
