Sir,
On second week of September the Govt. issued a notice, ordering local matadors, to bypass the Amphalla-Janipur road in order to counter the traffic jams that took place on the route. The narrow two way road witnessed heavy traffic jam during peak hours in the morning and evening.
Local buses carrying passengers, private vehicles, Govt. vehicles, office going people on two wheelers, every one of them would be seen stuck in long lasting traffic jams. As winter is about to approach and the secretariat employees would shift from Srinagar to Jammu for the six months of cold, the Govt. took this precautionary measure to counter the traffic jam.
For some sections this is a good decision, but the students who reside in the area are facing difficulties in reaching their respective colleges and schools. Besides, it wastes a lot of time of the student community, besides losing more money. We appeal the Govt to provide alternative mode of transport, so that students residing in the Colony do not suffer.
