JAMMU, Apr 4: The State Government has notified the amount as ex-gratia relief to be given to its employees, security personnel as well as drivers/conductors of the hired vehicles deployed for poll duty during the conduct of 2014 general elections in case of a mishap.
In case of death while on election duty, an amount of Rs 10 lakh will be given as ex-gratia relief to family of the deceased while in case of death due to violent acts of extremists or anti-social elements, the ex-gratia amount will be Rs 20 lakh.
Similarly, in case of permanent disability due to normal reasons, relief of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the affected person while the amount will be Rs 10 lakh in case of permanent disability due to criminal or extremist violence.
The ex-gratia relief shall be paid by the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, to the affected employee or person through the concerned Deputy Commissioner and in case of Police personnel, through the Police Headquarters.
