JAMMU, Feb 23: Administrator, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AH), Jammu has warned the erring staff who tend to remain absent from duty deliberately without any sanctioned leave, of strict action in future.
The warning came following a post-midnight surprise checking by Amit Sharma in Emergency Unit of GMC Jammu and SMGS Hospital as couple of Nursing Supervisors, Nurses and Nursing Orderlies deployed in the night shift were not found at work-place, especially in Emergency Unit of GHC Jammu which is the pivotal point to get round the clock medical treatment by public of Jammu division.
Amit also took a round of different wards of Emergency Unit along with Supervisors and they visited post Emergency Care Rooms, Plaster OMG, X-Ray and Ultrasound facility rooms. He also visited 24-hour functional laboratories wherein Bio-Chemistry and Micro-Bio lab tests are conducted and expressed satisfaction.
He also checked the registers of Medical Records Department and directed that lights should remain switched-on along with presence of staff to issue Emergency OPD Cards at any point of time during day and night time.
Prior to GMC Jammu, the Administrator also visited SMGS Hospital, where he expressed his displeasure over the state of cleanliness inside the wards and especially Sulabh-maintained toilet complexes on the ground floor of the building.
Accordingly, Amit Sharma issued directions to the CMOs and Medical Superintendents of SMGS and GMC Jammu to conduct these types of surprise check from time to time in order to ensure cent percent presence of staff during hours of duty and cleanliness in wards.
During the visits, he also checked all the Registers and Notes which remain in the custody of concerned CMOs of these two vital Hospitals of Jammu to oversee their day-to-day functioning including OPD Registers, Labour Ward Admission Registers, Security Staff Attendance Register, etc and found everything in order.
