Amit reviews progress under CSS

Jammu, June 9: Special Secretary to Government, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department Amit Sharma, convened a meeting of officers of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments and Horticulture Planning & Marketing today to review the pace of the progress of Centrally Sponsored Scheme- Establishment and Strengthening of Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries (ESVHD).
During the meeting, Mr Sharma emphasized upon the officers of both the departments and the executing agencies to redouble their efforts for timely completion of all the projects which will reciprocally help in development of the livestock sector. He further added that it should be the focus of all our endeavor to do our best for welfare of the communities associated with the profession of livestock rearing.
It was apprised that out of approved project of 12 hospitals and 43 dispensaries for Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, 7 hospitals and 25 dispensaries have been taken up during previous years 2012-13 and 2013-14 while as remaining 5 hospitals and 23 dispensaries are to be taken up during current year 2014-15. It was further added that 5 hospitals and 10 dispensaries have already been completed.
It was further apprised that out of 16 approved buildings of Animal Husbandry Department 9 buildings have been completed while as 5 are nearing completion. Moreover, 14 projects have been undertaken during 2013-2014 while as 11 project are in progress.
Director Animal Husbandry Department Jammu Dr S.L Bhagat, Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr Sant Ram, district officers of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments, officers of Horticulture Planning & Marketing Jammu Division, besides others were present in the meeting.
