Vishakhapatnam, Dec 15: The 48th Annual Convention Computer Society of India, established in 1955 was held for three days at Vishakhapatnam during which internationally acclaimed CSI-Nihilent Awards were given for rare e-Governance initiatives taken across the board in the entire nation. One such bold and maiden initiative of J&K regarding Conceptualization, Creation & Launch of 1st Official Website of a Sub Division in J&K “www. dudubasantgarh.gov.in” was accorded Award of Appreciation by Secretary DieTY, Government of India J.Satyanarayana in a glittering CSI Awards Ceremony held yesterday.
Amit Sharma, Special Secretary to Government of J&K, who is already championing the role & implementation of e-Governance in Government Sector from IIM, Indore received this Award for this novel initiative taken by him in his then capacity as SDM Dudu-Basantgarh. In his remarks after receiving CSI Award, Amit Sharma dedicated this Award to the public of Dudu-Basantgarh who inspired him day & night to take this remotest Sub Division towards new heights while serving in this tough Sub Division.
A Journal & CD were released by dignitaries at this occasion in which compendium of these Award-winning initiatives was mentioned. This maiden initiative of website work of Dudu-Basantgarh in J&K State got a special mention in these International publications and it appeared to be a feather in the cap towards e-Governance oriented IT initiatives undertaken in J&K under the stewardship of tech-savvy Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his team of dedicated officers including Chief Secretary Mohd Iqbal Khandey, IT Secretary Bipul Pathak, GAD Secretary M.A Bukhari and Special Secretary Amit Sharma, who have set the ball rolling for many IT initiatives in J&K to provide transparent and accountable administration in the times to come.
