JAMMU, Feb 1: Under the directions of Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department, Amit Sharma, Administrator GMC & Associated Hospitals, Jammu conducted a study tour of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi this week to study the best practices and recent innovations in the health field in the premier medical institute of the country so that same can be replicated in J&K health sector in near future.
During the visit Amit Sharma studied latest innovative practices of AIIMS, New Delhi over the last few days and conducted an extensive tour of different Centres like Emergency, R.P Eye Centre, Trauma Centre, Cardio-Neuro Centre, Sterile Unit, Kitchen and other important related areas of the Institute.
He keenly studied the centralised model of Patient Reception Centre (PRC) at AIIMS wherein out-patients either get cards for online registrations done in the past or get themselves registered for the same day check-up through Tatkal Counters in PRC.
The glaring and impressive fact is that this PRC is developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) under CSR. Sharma expressed that TCS shall be requested to replicate similar best practice in various health institutes of J&K Union Territory.
He also studied the Kiosks which have been installed in all Private and General Wards as well as OPD areas of all Centres which facilitate online and repeat appointments here leading to de-congestion and better queue management at AIIMS.
Various departments wherein AIIMS has been awarded for good practices like cleanliness drives, food and quality assurance, online registration and patience convenience, pollution-control measures etc were deeply-studied by Amit Sharma along with a team of Doctors including Dr Vijay Tadia, Dr Jayati Bahuguna, Dr Charan and others.
