AMCC for reservation of 5 seats for Pandits in Assembly

JAMMU, Oct 27: A meeting of All Migrant Coordination Committee (AMCC) was held here today under the chairmanship of R N Dhar in which various issued confronting the displaced Pandits and people of State were discussed.
As per a release, the meeting demanded reservation of five seats for the Pandits in Assembly, three in Council and one each in Upper and Lower House of Parliament.
It also demanded enhancement of relief as was announced by Union Home Minister recently, settlement of all the pending demands of the community including implementation of job package, one time assistance to overaged youth, bifurcation of ration cards, restoration of RBA, minority status to community and payment of ex-gratia and compensation for the losses suffered by the community during recent floods in Valley.
The meeting also appealed the people to vote for honest candidates in the Assembly poll by isolating the corrupt elements.
The meeting was also addressed by Inderjit Labroo, Chuni Lal Bhat, Srikirshan Raina, Sohan Lal Pandita, KV and Desh Rattan.
