Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated with fervour

JAMMU, Apr 14: Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna-Dr BR Ambedkar was celebrated with fervour across the Union Territory by different political parties, social organisations and educational institutions to pay tribute to the father of Indian Constitution, today.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by its senior party leaders paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar at various places of Jammu division. President Ravinder Raina addressed a massive programme at Majalta. He was accompanied by general secretary Dr Devinder Manyal, spokesperson RS Pathania and others leaders, whereas general secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul celebrated the Jayanti at Harijan Basti Village Dassa Mandal Nagseni in Kishtwar and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and former BJP president Sat Sharma paid tributes to Baba Sahib at Guru Ravidass Sabha, Talab Tillo.
The BJP unit Ramban, led by Neelam Langeh also paid rich tribute to the father of Indian constitution in function wherein a large numbers of people and party activists participated.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also paid rich tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 131st birth anniversary by organising a function at Party headquarter Jammu wherein prominent leaders including PCC working president Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney, Manmohan Singh, Hari Singh Chib and many others were present. Congress leader Ashok Bhagat also organised a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at Marh.
Ambedkar’s Jayanti was also celebrated by the Aam Aadmi Party by paying rich tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Party Regional Office Gandhi Nagar and remembered his invaluable contribution to the Indian Legal System and Constitution. Paying floral tribute, Manish Sinha and other senior leaders remembered the contribution of Dr Ambedkar.
A rich tribute was paid to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary by the Apni Party here at the Party Office Gandhi Nagar in which Party general secretary, Vijay Bakaya recalled the services of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar to the nation and said that he overcame the disadvantages obein Dalit and toiled hard to educate himself to become a great economist and jurist. General Secretary Vikram Malhotra and Manjit Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Paying glowing tributes to Ambedkar, National Conference Provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta today described the architect of the Constitution of India as a great visionary, saying the legendary leader worked tirelessly to foster egalitarian society and shed caste discrimination across the country. The people will always remember Baba Sahib for giving the country the best Constitution of the world, said Gupta.
Jammu Municipal Corporation under the supervision of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Commissioner organized a grand function at Ambedkar Rotary Panama Chowk to pay floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his Jayanti. The Mayor made an appeal to masses for imbibing the spirit of Constitution of India and fulfilling the path charted by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar for an egalitarian society and prosperous India.
BJP Kathua unit led by its senior leader Janak Bharti organized various programs at Marheen, Hirangar, Nagari and Kathua blocks and paid a floral tribute to Dr Ambedkar. A rally was also organised in Kathua which started from Barnoti and culminated at Kalibari.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Ambedkar, the District Legal Services Authority Srinagar and J&K Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NALSA in collaboration with District Administration Srinagar organized Mega Legal Services and Awareness Camp at Khanmoh Srinagar. The camp was inaugurated by Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Law and Justice in presence of Justice Pankaj Mithal, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Patron-in-Chief, J&K LSA, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Executive Chairman, J&K LSA, Justice Sindhu Sharma and many others.
Celebrating the Jayanti, All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha first paid rich tribute to the father of the Indian Constitution on his birth anniversary at Kabir Bhawan, Chak Avtara Bishnah wherein the president of the Sabha, FC Bhagat described Dr Ambedkar as symbol of knowledge who dedicated his life in working for the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society.
On the occasion of 131st birth anniversary of father of Indian Constitution, a programme was organized by JKRCEA in collaboration with BRAES at Dr BR Ambekar Bhawan Bari Brahamana wherein the speakers emphasized upon full adoption of ‘Egalitarian Model’ in India as envisaged in the preamble to the Indian constitution based on humanist principles of ‘Liberty, Equality and Fraternity’. The chief guest on the occasion was Prof Sanjay Bhasin along with Ashok Das, Sarvind Ram (Geoscientist and social worker) and Munni Bharatte (Assistant Professor, Delhi University). A six feet brass statue of Babasaheb was also unveiled.
Ambedkar Mela was organized by the Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration Committee (BAJCC) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at Jammu wherein renowned singers Gurpreet Singh Lalli and Gursaaz from Punjab enthralled the audience with their powerful performances. From Jammu, Sars Bharati, Sonu Heer, Akash, and Yogesh also performed in the event.
Paying glowing tributes to the architect of the Constitution of India, Senior BJP leader Devender Rana today said Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar had a wide vision encompassing the entire Nation and not confined to any segment of the society. Rana said during a function held at Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Temple at Kapotha (Kanyala).
Several social and political activists led by social activist and Sarpanch Badrinath Sharma, Panchayat Halqa Kotli Shah Doula of RS Pura described Dr Ambedkar a political reformer who fought for the rights of ‘untouchables’ and played a key role in not just India’s Independence but also in the making of the Constitution of India as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee.
The birth anniversary was also observed by All J&K Dr Ambedkar Welfare Forum at Guru Ravi Dass Complex, Rajpur where a large number of people paid rich tribute to the father of the Indian Constitution. JMC Mayor Charder Mohan Gupta along with Sat Sharma and others graced the event.
On the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, a function was organized by Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha at Office Ghou Manhasan wherein Parshotam Amit Manhas (National General Secretary ABKM) was the chief guest of the event along with Aadil Manhas (UT president ABKM). They inaugurated the Baishakhi function at Ghou Manhasan and remembered Dr Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
An impressive programme was organised to celebrate Ambedkar Jyanti and Baisakhi at Vishwakarma Temple, Akhnoor Road, Mishriwala under the supervision of Purshotam Chargotra (President) and Mangal Dass Verma (Chairman) in which Bharat Bhushan Bodhi (Ex-MLA) and DDC Chairman), Raj Kumar Tarkhan (Corporator & Chairman JMC), Labha Ram Gandhi (Refugee leader) were special invitee.
The J&K Batwal Sabha under the leadership of chairman Dilay Ram, president Rachpal Ram and general secretary RL Kaith and many others paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at his memorial in Panama Chowk.
Dulhasti Power Station celebrated 131st birth anniversary of Baba Saheb by organising a program at Field Hostel premises of the Power Station in which MK Singh, Group General Manager (in-charge), Dulhasti Power Station paid floral tributes along with other officials and highlighted the role of Baba Saheb in nation building and framing the Constitution.
To pay a rich tribute to the Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth Anniversary, Ladakh Buddhist Association Youth Wing Leh organized a grand function at historical Polo Ground Leh wherein Ladakh Police ADGP SS Khandare was chief guest on the occasion while LBA President Thupstan Chhewang and Ladakh Gonpa Association (LGA) President venerable Shatup Chamba was guest of honor on the occasion.
All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations J&K organized a march from Ambedkar Bhawan Resham Ghar Colony Park to Ambedkar Chowk to celebrate birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar in which Ramesh Chander, Additional District Development Commissioner was the chief guest and highlighted the role of Government in bringing out policies for the welfare of underprivileged sections of society.
Commemorating the Jayanti, Dr BR Ambedkar Charitable and Welfare Trust Ghagwal paid rich tribute to Dr Ambedkar on his 131st birth anniversary at Mela Ground Ghagwal with joy and fervour wherein Adv. Dharam Vir was the chief guest and the function was attended by around 400 people.
Shakti Punj- a Hiranagar based social organisation celebrated the Jayanti at Ward No 13 Hiranagar and remembered the contribution of Dr Ambedkar. Kuljeet Singh threw light on the life history of the father of the Constitution and appealed to the society for equal treatment of all citizens.
Dr BR Amedkar Welfare Society Dharmal Barnai observed the Jayanti with great fervour and joy wherein large numbers of people and office bearers of the Society paid tributes to him on his birth anniversary wherein Sewa Dass (Retd Director) threw light on the life and teachings of the Ambedkar.
Bhagat Mahasabha celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti at Prem Resort Akhnoor Jammu by holding a function and paid floral tributes to the founding father of Indian constitution wherein prominent people from distinguished social organizations especially employee class attended the function.
GDC Vijaypur organized an online quiz competition to commemorate the birth anniversary of Ambedkar under the guidance of College Principal Dr Sangeeta Sudan.
Ambedkar Jayanti was also celebrated by the NSS unit of GDC Kalakote on his 131st birth anniversary under the supervision of College Principal Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta by organizing a debate competition on the topic ‘Ambedkar’s Life and Mission’ to commemorate the Jayanti.
The NSS units of Government PG College Rajouri celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar by holding an online quiz competition on the theme “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar: The Father of Indian Constitution” which was organized under the guidance of Prof Dr J A Qazi, Principal of the College and Prof Farooq Mirza officiating Principal of the College.
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Club (EBSB) of Government Degree College, RS Pura organized a sketch making competition on the theme “Bharat Ratna, Baba Sahib Ambedkar” to celebrate 131st birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof Sunil Uppal.
