Ambardar takes up KP migrants’ issues with Relief Secretary

SRINAGAR, Aug 4: BJP MLC, Surinder Ambardar, today took up various issues related to Kashmiri Pandit (KP) migrants living in Jammu and of those employees living in different transit camps all over the Kashmir Valley with Commissioner Secretary, Relief and Rehabilitation, Deeraj Gupta.
Ambardar while discussing the problems being faced by the displaced community informed the Commissioner Secretary that during last one week he visited all the transit camps in Valley wherein mostly the employees engaged under PM’s package are residing.
BJP MLC while describing the problems faced by the Inmates of transit camps falling in South Kashmir i.e, Vessu, Mattan and Hall said that additional accommodation needs to be provided on immediate basis so that people residing there don’t have to live on share basis.
He also spoke about the need to have proper drainage system in place at all transit camps falling in North and South Kashmir apart from providing safe drinking water and timely ration to people living there.
Ambardar also apprised Commissioner Secretary about the problems being faced by displaced community in Jammu which primarily is related to proper and timely distribution of ration to APL and those migrants who fall under the non relief category, bifurcation of ration cards and issuance of certificates from Relief Organization which has been made a cumbersome process and should be eased so that people don’t suffer.
Ambardar also discussed the need to allot the new shops which have been made in Jagti to those shopkeepers first who already had a shop in the erstwhile camps. He also raised the issue of immediate need to get the main hospital building in Jagti Township functional.
Commissioner Secretary assured that he will make sure that all the genuine demands brought under his notice by the MLC will be addressed on priority.
