Amarnath Yatra suspended from Jammu due to bad weather

JAMMU:  No fresh batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra on Sunday left from here for the holy cave shrine in South of Himalayas due to bad weather.
An official said that in view of bad weather forecast by the MeT section, the Yatra remained suspended on Sunday and no fresh batch was allowed.
“The Yatra was suspended as preventive measure as rainfall was predicted by the MeT, which has triggered landslide on Jammu-Srinagar national highway and effect the Yatra enroute,” he added.
The highway has also been closed for traffic at many places due to landslide due to rains.
