Aluminium futures weaken on global cues

NEW DELHI, Sept 22:  Aluminium prices were down 0.42 per cent to Rs 106.10 per kg in futures trade today as investors reduced exposure amid weak global cues.
Besides, sluggish demand in the domestic spot markets weighed on the metal’s prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in October eased 45 paise, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 106.10 per kg in a business turnover of 24 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery this month traded lower by 35 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 105.70 per kg in 528 lots.
Marketmen said the weakness in aluminium in futures trade was mostly in step with a weak trend at London Metal Exchange (LME) as fundamentals of all the metals are weak on slowing demand in China and investors don’t believe that the consumption will recover quickly in the fourth quarter. (PTI)
