Altaf reviews development works

TRAL (PULWAMA), Sept 27: Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmed conducted extensive tour of various Gujjar Basties and far-flung areas of Tral including Bangdar, Naristan and Watnar etc.
The Minister took stock of the development works presently under execution in these areas. The Minister during his tour met a number of deputations and individuals and got feedback of the works that have been taken under MGNREGA, PMGSY, IAY, other State- Centrally sponsored schemes.
On the occasion, residents of these remote areas put-forth some demands for urgent attention of the Government. The Minister while interacting with people of these backward areas said that the Government committed to ensure equal development of all the areas of the State especially remote and far-flung areas. He said that ever since the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took reigns of the present Government road connectivity, safe drinking water, education to all, better health facilities and particularly upliftment of downtrodden, backward and people belonging to schedule caste and schedule tribe communities were prioritized.
He called upon the people of these communities to come forward and take benefit of these schemes launched by the Government from time to time for their benefits.
On the occasion, the people demanded macadamization of Watnar-Naristan, Bandar-Naristan, Tastara to Tral, Nagpur Naristan to Tral roads taken up under PMGSY. They also demanded installation of transformer at Watroo Tral and bridge, adequate safe drinking water and electricity.
The Minister assured the people that their demands would be looked into and directed the District Administration to mitigate the problems confronted by the people of these remote areas.
