Almond declines on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 19:  Almond fell sharply by Rs 300 per 40 kg in the national capital today due to low demand from retailers and stockists at prevailing higher levels amidst adequate stocks on increased supplies.
Almond (California) prices dropped by Rs 300 to Rs 23,800 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also eased by Rs 5 to Rs 800-820 per kg.
Traders attributed the fall in almond prices to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amidst adequate stocks.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 23,800, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,700-11,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 7,200-7,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 800-820 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 850-900 per kg. (PTI)
