JAMMU, May 8: Jammu Warriors Front (JWF) Chairman, Rajesh Gupta has appealed to J&K Lieutenant Governor, G.C Murmu for lockdown relaxation and opening of shops and some business establishments.
In a handout Gupta claimed that J&K administration is not following MHA guidelines.
He said that people in J&K are under lockdown for more than forty days and still they are co-operating the Government despite suffering financial losses.
Gupta said that the Government should initiate measures to open standalone and neighborhood shops and industrial units especially those dealing with essential items so that people linked with them as well as the workers engaged there can earn livelihood.
“Poor laborers, hawkers and small shopkeepers dependent on daily earning have lost bread and butter due to lockdown. Now it is time for the Government to allow these people to resume work by maintaining social distancing,” he maintained.
Gupta also said that sale of liquor, paan and tobacco shops may be allowed to open ensuring social distancing.
