JAMMU, Jan 1: Categorically denying contents of his statement published in a local English daily, chairman of the National Panthers Party (NPP) and party MLA from Ramnagar, Harshdev Singh today said that how the FCI contract and its relation to Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Devender Singh Rana figured in the news-item was a mystery and alleged foul play in the whole episode.
“The portion of the news item which links FCI contracts with Rana and which has unnerved the latter was never a part of the hand out issued by me to the Press”, Harshdev Singh said in a statement. Alleging foul play in the whole episode, Harsh said that the possibility of the paragraph having been planted in the news item can’t be ruled out.
Harsh said that Panthers Party has taken Rana’s remarks in a public meeting at Udhampur seriously and would initiate appropriate legal proceedings against the over-zealous Political Advisor in the competent court of jurisdiction. He pointed out that in his press note under reference he had only described Rana as an ‘extra constitutional Authority’ and a ‘product of back door politics’ and advised NC to peep into its own dirty laundry before casting aspersions on others.
“How the FCI contract and its relation to Rana figured in the news item was a mystery in which manipulations could not be ruled out”, he said.
Welcoming Rana to bring Rs 10 crore legal suit against him, NPP Chairman said that his party was also considering to bring a defamation suit of Rs 20 crore against him besides initiating other legal proceedings.
