JAMMU, Sept 26: All J&K Youth OBC Mahasabha held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Mohd Yaseen.
During the meeting, Arjit Kumar, general secretary, All J&K Youth OBC Mahasabha said that OBC Development Board has failed in projecting the constitutional rights of 27 per cent reservation of Mandal Commission identified OBCs before the Government.
The speakers detailed that Government is giving 23 per cent vertical reservation benefits to resident of backward areas and residents near the actual line of control at the cost of real OBC masses, who are facing discrimination from centuries together.
They have no Member of Legislative Assembly/Council who can raise their voice in the State Law making body. However if State Government is interested to give the reservation benefits to RBA and ALC, they should give horizontal reservation, they said.
While speaking, Mohd Yaseen urged upon OBC castes and communities to participate in the rally to be organized by Youth OBC Mahasabha on October 2, at 5 pm from Shyama Parshad Mukharjee Chowk to Janipur Colony.
The speakers included Shuban Mehra, Amarjeet Chargotra, Mohammad Rafique, Mohd Amin, Liaquat Ali, Sushil Pandey, Sanjay Mehra, Vishal Dogra, Raj Kumar Salgotra, Rishi Chargotra, Nishi Kant Dogra, Arun Kumar and Rahul Dogra.
