The new Sub District Hospital at Bhaderwah was set up to provide quality medicare to people of the area. But it is quite dismaying to note that this state-of-the-art hospital has failed to live to the expectations of people. This is due to a number of reasons which include shortage of doctors and para medical staff. Besides, the patients who can be treated at this hospital are reffered to either District Hospital Doda or to GMC Jammu. The doctors show inability to treat them at Bhaderwah on the pretext that concerned doctor is not available in the hospital. Mostly Medical Assistants and lower staff are seen attending to the patients. The costly medical equipments are rusting in the stores of the hospital as there is no expert to handle the equipments. Even during this harsh and prolonged winter season the patients have to rush to either Doda or Jammu for treatment even for minor diseases.
Even emergency services in the hospital lacks proper functioning for X-ray, Dental fillings and other minor tests extra charges are charged by from the patients. The medicines have to purchased from the market.
Is this the service the Bhaderwah hospital is providing to humanity that too for the people of far flung areas of this hilly belt? Is this the development in medical sector in this area for which our leaders often say that development of far flung areas , remote areas is the priority of administration. Now even people of this area are say that better to die at home rather than go to this hospital for treatment. The administration should look into the ground realities and should provide necessary staff that is doctors, physicians and technical experts so as this hospital could function in a better way and poor patients of this area can be treated here properly.

Repair Kathar road
We, the people of Kathar and adjoining village of Akhnoor tehsil want to draw the attention of concerned authorities that we are facing difficulties due to bad condition of road. It is in such a deplorable condition that even after 15 yrs the road has not black-topped and during rain the condition worsens as it is full of potholes and puddles. It is quite disgusting that nobody bothers to improve the condition of this road. Every year we plea to Govt to improve it but all in vain. It is again requested to the concerned authorities to do the needful.

Dog menace
We wish to highlight the issue of dog menace throughout Trikuta Nagar specifically in Sector 9, 8 and 7, i.e. area from the the office of Jammu Central University, Sector 8 to Panch Mandir of Sector 7. Most of the times, these dogs are seen running after kids, elderly people or rag pickers. These unsuspected people then have to be treated for dog bites.
We request the concerned authorities to intervene into the matter to avoid such incidents.

Garbage dumps at Barnai
It is quite dismaying to note that some unknown people dump domestic waste in the colony and in open plots at Sector-1 Anuradhapuram Barnai. This garbage is scattered in whole of the colony by winds, dogs and cattle. As a result, whole colony seems to be a big dustbin.
Besides, sweepers seldom make a presence in the colony. As a result, whole of the colony is stinking. There is also no dustbin in the colony where people could dump garbage and other waste material. The Municipal authorities are requested to make an on the spot assessment of the situation and act accordingly.

Appeal to Chief Engineer PWD
The widening of road from Bhori Chungi to Sangrampura was taken in hand in June 2013 by the concerned PWD Department. As a fact of matter, a small culvert between Udheywala and Ram Krishen Mission Colony on the Marh-Gajansoo road was constructed nine months ago and is still incomplete causing hardships to the people.
The widening process of the said road is also going on at snail’s pace and in hapazard manner. As is known to all that the road in question is one of the main life lines of Jammu city regarding the supply of foodgrains, milk and vegetables. Moreover, the road is important because of the army movement.
It is requested to look into the matter personally to expedite the widening work in the shortest possible time before the onset of monsoon season.
