All India devotional competition held

KATRA, Oct 17: All India devotional song competition as a part of Navratra Festival 2012 began today at Yog Ashram Complex in the evening by Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj and Deputy Inspector General of Police Jagjeet Kumar Udhampur-Reasi range in the presence of Addl.SP Katra Mohan Lal, president Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra Sham Lal Kesar and others.
In the preliminary round of competition, Rajeev Salotra of Jammu adjudged 1st, Brijesh Malhotra from Kanyala adjudged 2nd and 3rd position was held by Paramjeet Kumar from Jallandhar, Punjab among the 13  auditioned participants and were provided with the cash prizes of 5000, 3000 and 2,000 respectively.
The devotional song contestants were adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Parduman Singh Ex- Programme Executive Radio Kashmir Jammu, D. L. Kaswalia Ex.Station Director All India Radio and Dr.Usha Bhagati Ex.HoD Music, P.G.M.A.M College Jammu.
The grand finale of the All India devotional song competition will be held on Oct 23  and winner will be awarded with Rs. One lakh gold coin of Goddess and a recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes ltd.
The proceedings of competition were conducted by Rakesh Wazir who is also the chairman of the said competition besides Member Navratra Festival Committee.
All India devotional song competition being organised by S.M.V.D.Shrine Board and Deptt. of Tourism with active support of Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra, Zee News, Zee Jagran, MH Shardha, Disha Channel, 92.7 FM, J&K Bank, Nidesh Builders Jammu, RR Arts, Jai Mata Di Sewa Sangh Prasadi,District Administration, Katra Municipality and the local host Community.
Moreover, contestants who stood Ist. in the preliminary round will directly join the Grand Finale on Oct. 23 and 2nd and 3rd position holders will again contest among themselves in semi final on Oct 22 to reach Grande Finale.
