RAJOURI Sept 7: BJP J&K general secretary and former MLC, Vibodh Gupta today visited various border villages in Rajouri and held a series of meetings with local residents.
Vibodh visited Chityar, Danamah, Chingus, Narian and Chkli villages in remote parts of Rajouri. While addressing the locals in these areas, Vibodh informed that after many decades of discrimination the border areas of Rajouri and Poonch are getting its due share of developmental activities. He accused the past Governments of always neglecting the border belts and for keeping them vulnerable to various happenings in the border belt in general and Rajouri and Poonch in particular.
He was accompanied by BJP Rajouri general secretary, Ranjeet Tara, Lovely Bakshi, Mandal Pardhan Chingus, Jagmohan Kour ,Suman Sharma, Sangeeta Sharma, Qamar Zaman, Susheel Sharma, Haji Bashir, Kamal Sharma, Dinesh Bali, Om Parkash Sharma, Munish Sharma and Akram Khan.
On this occasion, Vibodh informed about recently announced infrastructure projects specially of Rs. 734.64 crore road and tunnel projects for Rajouri and Poonch. These projects have been sanctioned for rehabilitation and upgradation of two-lane roads with paved shoulders. This will also have a world class tunnel at Bhimber Gali on Akhnoor – Poonch road. Once completed, these roads and tunnel will give a major boost to overall development of the area, especially to the tourism sector, Vibodh added. For this Vibodh complimented the Union Minister for Road, Transport and National Highways Nitin Gadkari and MP Jugal Kishor Sharma for their concerted efforts towards this.
Giving details about the Amrit Kaal initiative of the Government of India, Vibodh said that the overall goal of this flagship programme of Government of India is to build a nation where there is no urban-rural divide. This is because of the strong resolve of PM Modi to be able to convert means into ends and words into actions. Whether announcements made from the ramparts of Red Fort or policy decisions, all promises are being fulfilled because of hard work and dedication of PM Modi and his team, Vibodh remarked. On this occasion Vibodh also appreciated the LG administration in J&K for being focused and for timely completion of various developmental projects. This he said will go a long way in transforming J&K into the most developed area of the country.
