JAMMU, Mar 29: Expressing its concern over Government’s apathy towards the displaced Pandits, the All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit United Forum (ADKPUF) today said that the community feels neglected since it has no representation anywhere in Central and State Governments.
The Forum which met here today under the chairmanship of D N Kissu its president said it will accelerate the struggle in this regard. The secretary of the Forum P N Raina urged the Government to show seriousness on the rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley.
Forum advisor Prof G L Kaul said the Government has totally ignored the plight of the community and it is unconcerned to address the basic problems, like enhancing the cash assistance, cancellation of distress sale, providing a lump sum amount of Rs 25 lakh to over-aged displaced youth for starting their own business and allotment of quarters to rented migrants.
The meting took note of Government’s failure in implementing PM’s rehabilitation package and R N Raina, sectary of Forum urged the Government to show seriousness in this regard.
C L Kaul vice president expressed concern that ration is not given on cash payment to new APL ration cards and Mr Kissu criticized the duel policy of the Government for not declaring KPs as minority and maintaining a stoic silence on setting up of Minority Commission.
Others who addressed the meeting included B N Bhat and Pawan Pandita general secretary of the Forum.
