Akhnoor burglary case solved, 1 held

JAMMU, Dec 8: With the arrest of accused hailing from Chasana area of Mahore, the police claimed to have solved a burglary case which took place at Akhnoor recently.
Official sources said that on November 14, 2021, Police Station Akhnoor received a complaint from a shopkeeper namely, Kewal Krishan, son of Babu Ram, resident of village Gurha Jagir, Tehsil Akhnoor district Jammu regarding burglary in his shop during the intervening night of November 13 and 14 at Kalewali Kaleeth, in Akhnoor.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 291/2021 U/S 457/380/427 IPC was registered in PS Akhnoor and further investigation into the matter was taken up.
In this regard, under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor, Varun Jandial a special Police team headed by SHO Akhnoor Insp. Hilal Mohd Azhar and SI Karnail Singh Parihar was constituted.
During investigation, the police team with the help of CCTV footage and other technical tools, managed to identify the burglar as Mukhtiar Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Chasana in district Reasi. A special team was dispatched to Chasana in Reasi which managed to arrest the accused.
The accused confessed to the crime and on his confession, some of the stolen cash was also recovered. A hunt to nab his associates is also on. The overall operation was conducted under the guidance of SP Rural, Sanjay Sharma.
