Akasa Air inducts new aircraft; expands fleet to 38 planes

NEW DELHI, Apr 21 :  Akasa Air has taken delivery of a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft, bringing its total fleet to 38, with seven planes inducted in the first four months of this year.

The airline, which started flying in August 2022, on Tuesday said the sustained pace of fleet additions would help further deepen its network.

“The first leg of the 38th aircraft’s delivery flight commenced from Seattle, USA to Reykjavik, Iceland and concluded with the final leg from Cairo, Egypt, to Bengaluru, India. Bearing registration number VT-YBK, the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on 21st April 2026,” it said in a release.

In the first four months of 2026, the carrier has inducted seven new planes. (PTI)
