AJKPC expands regional team in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 29: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) today held a meeting in district Pulwama to discuss the organizational setup and expansion in the Kashmir Division.  Presided over by the organization’s president, Anil Sharma, the meeting focused on appointing an adhoc team for the Valley.
During the meeting, prominent issues were addressed, including the forthcoming Panchayat elections, as hinted by BR Sharma, the J&K Election Commissioner. The Panchayat leaders also deliberated on matters concerning the welfare of the locals in the Kashmir division, spanning various departments such as Social Welfare, PHE, KPDCL, PWD, Rural Development, and Revenue.
The participants reached a unanimous resolution to strengthen the Panchayati Raj Institutions in J&K, aiming to make Panchayats the primary point of access for Government services and schemes. Special attention was given to the challenges faced by vulnerable groups, such as widows and elderly individuals, regarding Social Welfare Pensions.
Responding to the demand and recommendations of local PRI members and after discussions with senior office bearers of AJKPC, President announced an adhoc team for the Kashmir region.
The team will be led by Nazir Ahmed Raina, who has been designated as the Convener of AJKPC Kashmir Zone. Other appointments include Ghulam Ahmed Paul as Co-Convener for Central Kashmir, AK Pandita as Co-Convener for South Kashmir, and Nazir Ahmed Rather as Co-Convener for North Kashmir.
In a separate appointment order issued by the office of AJKPC President, an adhoc team was formed for district Pulwama. Mohd Shafi Wani was designated as AJKPC District Convener for Pulwama, while Mukhtar Ahmed Lone, Yaar Mohd Poswal, Dazy Raina, Mahesh Dhar, Farooq Ahmed Wani, and Mohd Akbar were appointed as Co-Conveners for the district. Dazy Raina also received the role of District Head for AJKPC Women Wing, Pulwama.
