JAMMU, Nov 7: All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) has served ultimatum to Lt. Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu till November 25 to increase honorarium of elected Panchs and Sarpanchs and clear Rs 700 crore liabilities under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

AJKPC president, Anil Sharma in a press conference said that conduct of Block Development Council (BDC) elections in J&K was historic decision and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) will only be fully empowered when the elected members will get required attention.
He demanded that Government should now constitute District Development Planning Boards. “People in J&K will only get fully empowered when planning boards are constituted as it holds great significance for PRIs”, Sharma said.
Earlier AJKPC president, Anil Sharma felicitated about 45 newly elected BDC chairpersons which included Abha Khajuria, Raj Singh , Bimla Devi, Vijay Tagotra, Ram Lal Kalia, Radhysham, Sushma Devi, Avtar Singh, Ashok Sharma, Chander Mohan Singh, Kuldeep Kumar.
