AJKPC demands compensation for Sarpanch’s family

JAMMU, Sept 18: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference today demanded compensation of Rs 25 lakhs and Government job for the family of Dalit Sarpanch, Rajeet Rana of Village Jagtu Chak in block Bishnah, district Jammu who on Friday got electric shock and died on the spot.
All Panchayat members of the block Bishnah including BDC Chairperson of Bishnah led by Anil Sharma, President of All J&K Panchayat Conference held a meeting wherein all the PRI members of the block Bishnah decided to give their one month’s honorarium to the family of the deceased which include 3 years and 5 years children of late Sarpanch.
The AJKP president informed that the Sarpanch got electrocuted due to negligence of the Power Development Department and their organization has also requested the PDD to compensate the family at own level.
The PRI members of Bishnah block have urged the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to compensate the poor family of the Sarpanch with Rs 25 lakh besidés a Govt job to deserving family member of the victim as the family condition of the deceased is not in good economical condition.
Prominent people who addressed the gathering include BDC Bishnah Surjeet Kumar, Jatinder Singh vice president AJKPC, Sarpanch Chak Avtara, Sarpanch Bhawishan Singh, Sarpanch Pritam Singh and others.
