JAMMU, Mar 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) president Anil Sharma today dedicated an ambulance under ‘108 Emergency Response Ambulance Service’ to a population of over 25,000 in Jindrah and adjoining  areas of block Dansal of Jammu district.
In a simple ceremony at the Primary Health Center (PHC) Jindrah, Anil Sharma, who is also the local Sarpanch, flagged off the ambulance service following a mock drill and call to the central 108 emergency call centre. The ambulance, to be positioned at PHC Jindrah, would operate with a trained pharmacist and two drivers and basic life support equipment.
Speaking on the occasion, AJKPC president informed that the ambulance have been provided by Health and Medical Education Department for providing 24×7 ambulance service to the people of Jindrah and adjoining villages. “The ambulance will prove beneficial to a population of over 25,000 in block Dansal at critical times,” Sharma said and also urged the UT administration to renovate the old building of PHC Jindrah to ensure quality healthcare facilities to the people.
Prominent among those who attended the function were Dr Shafeen Koul (Incharge PHC Jindrah), Dr Gurnam Singh (dental surgeon), Dr Mohammad Ashraf (BAMS), Pawan Sharma (Sarpanch), Kanta Devi (Panch) Deepak Kumar, Anju Devi, Vijay Kumar, Surinder Sharma, Onkar Singh, Keemat Raj, Som Dutt, Krishan Dutt, Sahil Sharma, Yash Pal Sharma, Joginder Pal, Haji Rafiq, Junad Mohammad, Sardar Ali, Bali Ram, Angraz Singh, Mani Ram, Chaman Singh, Raj Kumar and Madan Lal.
