AJKGEA delegation calls on Pr Secy JSD, discusses issues

JAMMU, Sept 29: A deputation of All J&K Graduate Engineers Association (Civil) today met Principal Secretary Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra and discussed burning issues of engineers which need to be resolved.
The issues which were discussed in detail during this meeting included, regularisation of services of engineers at all levels, review of engineering cadre, expediting the issuance of SRO of Assured Career Progression, filling up of the vacancies at all levels.
The meeting was held in a congenial atmosphere and Pr Secretary gave patient hearing and also took some prompt actions by issuing instructions to the subordinate staff to work on resolution of demands.
Kabra also sought the present status of regularisation of services of engineers which are in underway and for which meeting stands already held with J&K Public Service Commission and simultaneously directed HRM staff to work out the year wise vacancies and submit the same in shortest possible time and clear the bottlenecks, if any, in regularisation of engineers.
Gopal Sharma, president AJKGEA urged the Pr Secretary to review the engineering cadre which has not been reviewed since last 35 years though lot of expansion has taken place in jurisdictions after creation of new districts in J&K. It was also requested to expedite the process of issuance of SRO of already approved ACP (Running grades) which were approved after a long struggle by engineers.
Besides, some issues pertaining to development of J&K were also discussed especially water conservation and flood water management by way of creation of separate water conservation division in Jammu as well as Kashmir.
Rakesh Gupta also shared some technical suggestions in respect of Power development projects and development of Surya Putri river Tawi by creation of Tawi Development Authority and 24×7 water supply from Chenab River by laying of water pipe line along Ranbir Canal.
