AJHLA deputation submits memo of demands to Priya Sethi

JAMMU, Nov 23: A deputation of All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association (AJHLA) led by its president Inderjeet Khajuria met Priya Sethi, Minister of State for Tourism and presented a memorandum on the delay being caused in providing sewerage connections to the Hotels/Lodges and other households situated in old Jammu.
Inderjeet Khajuria informed the Minister that 129 Crore  Sewerage Project was got executed by the State Government  through National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) but so far despite completion of laying out of sewerage pipes, and Common Sewerage Treatment Plant at Bhagwati Nagar, connections have not been provided to hotels, lodges and other households in the locality of old city area.
The matter needs to be sorted out between the concerned departments so that sewerage connections are provided to the hotels and lodges immediately to avoid further harassment by the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB). He requested the Minister to convene a joint meeting of Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Director General Tourism and Chairman Pollution Control Board to sort out the problem once for all so that sewerage connections are provided without any further delay.
Regarding ongoing mega tourism projects, the AJHLA president informed the Minister that Jammu bound ongoing mega tourism projects including multi-level parking in General Bus Stand, Jammu; conservation/restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex; and Jammu Ropeway Project are incomplete due to multiple reasons. He urged the Government to pay special attention on the completion of these projects, as it will give a fillip to the tourism industry in Jammu.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the deputation of all help by the State Government in mitigating their problems.
Ashiq Khan, Pawan Gupta, Baldev Raj, HS Manhas and Pritam Chand were also part of the deputation.
