JAMMU, Jan 21: The Joint Select Committee of Legislature on J&K Prohibition on Conversion of Agricultural Land for Non-agricultural Purposes Bill today impressed upon all the Deputy Commissioners to prepare detailed reports about non-utilization of agricultural land in their respective areas and submit the same to the Assembly Secretariat for scrutiny of the Committee.
It also asked the Housing and Urban Development Department to furnish the report about the land required as per the Master Plan for next twenty years.
The Committee met under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Revenue and Rehabilitation Ajaz Ahmad Khan here today.
The Committee members Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Aabdul Gaffar Sofi, Charanjit Singh, Sheikh Gulam Rasool, B. R. Kundal and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri) attended the meeting and gave their suggestions about the proposed bill.
Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Secretary, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Secretary Housing and Urban Development Satish Nehru, Director Agriculture Jammu Ajay Khajuria, and other officers of revenue, agriculture and Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
