JAMMU, Mar 31: Airport Taxi Driver Association today held elections to elect the office bearers.
In the election, Gurdeep Singh has been elected as president of the Association as he secured 130 votes out of polled 151 votes. His rival Sarwan Singh managed to secure only 11 votes.
Parvinder Singh has been elected as vice president. He secured 133 votes out of total 151 polled votes. The other candidate for the post namely Harcharan singh secured 18 votes only.
For the post of general secretary, Ajit Raj and Ramesh Gandotra were the candidates. Ajit Raj was elected as general secretary as he secured 141 votes out of total polled 151 votes. His opponent got only 10 votes.
Surinder Kumar Raina was elected un-opposed for the post of cashier.
The president assured the members of the association that he will continue to work in the interest of the association.
The election was held under the supervision of Election Chairman Rajinder Singh and Returning Officer Bansi Lal Sodhi.
