JAMMU, Apr 7: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Haq Khan today informed the Lower House that the Government was making serious efforts to shift the body of cop Shabir Hussain to his native place in Leh in a chopper but the inclement weather is hampering the airlifting of the body.
“As soon as the weather improves, the body of the deceased will be airlifted to his native place”, he said, adding “the Government is in solidarity with the bereaved family in this moment of grief and there is no question of any kind of slackness on this human issue”.
He was responding to the point raised by Legislators Delden Namgyal and Asgar Karbalai during Zero Hour.
Syed Baqir Rizvi sought upgradation of power infrastructure to improve the overall power scenario in Zanskar area. He also sought steps for speedy compensation to those affected due to snowfall and landslides.
Mubarak Gul demanded enhancement of Hajj quota and direct flights from Srinagar to Saudi Arabia for Hajjis. Bashir Ahmed Dar demanded early assessment of loss to the infrastructure and crops due to rains and snowfall and adequate compensation to the affected families in Kupwara.
Mohammad Amin Bhat demanded early compensation to those whose land was acquired for construction of Mir Bazaar-Kilam Jangalpora road in his constituency. Hakim Mohammad Yasin demanded regularization of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya teachers on the pattern of ReT teachers in Budgam district.
Mushtaq Shah demanded repair of bridges damaged due to September 2014 floods and recent rains in his constituency Tral. Dina Nath demanded speedy restoration of public infrastructure damaged due to rains and floods and adequate supply of rations in Chenani constituency. He also demanded degree college for Chenani.
M Y Tarigami wanted to know the fate of bills pending for payment under different heads which remained unpaid in the Kulgam Treasury on the last day of March. He also demanded immediate replacement of damaged electric transformers and storage of buffer stock of transformers in Kulgam.
Usman Majid sought appropriate steps to improve the power scenario in Bandipora constituency. Syed Aga Ruhulla demanded speedy repair of damaged electric transformers in Budgam constituency. Ch Qamar Hussain demanded bifurcation of administrative units in Rajouri for the convenience of people.
Sham Choudhary demanded early allotment of plots at safer places for the border people who come in the firing range from across the Suchetgarh border. Shah Mohammad Tantray demanded early release of salaries for SSA teachers and wages for other temporary workers in his constituency.
Javed Rana demanded overall improvement in the power situation and setting up a transformer workshop in Poonch for early repair of damaged transformers. R S Pathania demanded speedy completion of ongoing road projects in Ram Nagar constituency.
Mohammad Khalil Band demanded immediate repair of irrigational canals which were damaged due to 2014 floods in Pulwama district. Devender Rana called on the Government to take due cognizance of points raised by the Members during Zero Hour and address these on priority.
Dr Devinder Manyal demanded strengthening of public transport service in the rural areas of Samba district. Farooq Andrabi demanded free seeds for farmers in his constituency Dooru. Daleep Parihar raised the issue of a sportsman from Balessa who excelled at the national level sports events and demanded special award and recognition from the State Government for him.
Ajay Nanda drew the attention of the Government towards the developmental activities along Trikuta Hills in Reasi district which he said are badly affecting the environment. He sought steps to check the same. Mumtaz Khan demanded speedy restoration of roads which were damaged due to recent rains and snow in his constituency. He also called for early filling up of vacant posts in various health institutions.
Mian Altaf Ahmed demanded free ration and compensation to the flood affected families in Kangan constituency. Neelam Langeh demanded immediate relief measures for the families of Dharamkund in Ramban who have been rendered homeless due to recent rains and landslides.
Mohammad Abbas demanded speedy repair of irrigational canals in his constituency Tangmarg. Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar sought steps to clear all the pending bills which were not en-cashed in the Ganderbal Treasury on the last day of financial year. Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat demanded speedy repair of breaches along the River Chenab which damaged crops and infrastructure. He also sought early restoration of damaged roads and other public infrastructure in Chhamb constituency.
G M Saroori registered his protest for non-clearance of bills on account of salaries of employees and various welfare and developmental schemes from the Doda Treasury and called upon the Government to issue directions for their early clearance. Sat Sharma called for strengthening the PSC and SSRB for clearing the pendency of numerous posts.
Ajaz Ahmed Mir and Abdul Majid also raised the issues of public importance pertaining to their areas.
