Air version of supersonic Brahmos being developed by DRDO

NEW DELHI, Apr 29: Supersonic cruise missing Brahmos with multi-mission capabilities has been inducted in two regiments of Indian Army and eight warships in the Navy and the air version was at the developmental stage, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
In a written reply, Defence Minister A K Antony said there were considerable potential for enhancement of capabilities in different versions of speed and accuracy and an upgraded version called ‘Block III’ had been recently been demonstrated to the Army for mountain operations with steep dive capability.
He said development of all version is being undertaken by India-Russia joint venture with 300 million dollars share capital and the Indian contribution working out to 50.5 per cent.
The Minister said Brahmos was a force multiplier and an important component of striking capabilities of the Armed Forces against the land and sea targets. (UNI)
