AIR organizes Tribal Music Concert at Padum Zanskar

KARGIL, Sept 10: All India Radio (AIR) Kargil for first time organized a Tribal Music and Dance Concert at Padum Zanskar today evening at Dak Banglow Zanskar. The Concert was enjoyed by thousands of people from all over Zanskar Valley.
Many cultural groups from different parts of Kargil District participated in the concert along with two groups from Zanskar Valley.
SDM Zanskar, who was the chief guest, appreciated the efforts of All India Radio Kargil and hoped that such type of festivals should also be organized in the future. He termed such festivals as symbolic in maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood in the Valley.
Nissar Naseem, Head, All India Radio Kargil announced that in terms of revival and development of cultural ethos and traditional values of this land, All India Radio Kargil is likely to organize such type of programmes in Drass, Batalik and Mulbekh Areas in near future.
The programme started with the welcome speech by Naseem and after that cultural groups from Padum, Karsha Zanskar, Mulbekh and Hardass Kargil presented their local dances and music which enthralled the audience and kept them spell bound.
Mohammad Talha Jahangir entrained the audience in his unique humorous way.
