AIPEF highlights demands

JAMMU, Nov 5: All India Power Engineers Federation (AIPEF) highlighted its demands to scrap the Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020 as well as standard bidding document and announced to launch agitation on November 26 against the Central Government move of privatization of electricity.
V K Gupta, spokesperson of AIPEF, in a statement said that the Federation opposes the proposed transfer of public assets to the private cronies for their profit as this will result in high tariff for the consumers. He demanded to withdraw process of privatization of electricity from public sector to a private company in States and Union Territories and cancel all existing privatization and franchises in the power sector.
He also demanded the reintroduction of old pension scheme and oppose the forced retirement of employees in the power sector.
