JAMMU, Mar 19: Various Kashmiri Pandit organizations have expressed serious concern over the prevailing political situation in the State after the hanging of Afzal Guru the mastermind of Parliament attack in 2001.
In their separate statements issued here today, All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) and Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) said the role of some main stream political parties over Guru issue is heartening.
AIKS president Moti Kaul while commenting on the demand made by some mainstream political parties on Guru issue said that this has unnecessary raked up another controversy and is also slated to vitiate the situation in trouble torn State further.
Mr Kaul said instead of trying to defuse the situation in the State which has seen lot of blood shed and devastation in last 23 years of turmoil, some political parties were trying to exploit situation for their vote bank politics forgetting its far reaching consequences.
Mr Kaul also strongly condemned the Pak National Assembly resolution of Guru and demanded that it be declared a terrorist State.
AIKS criticized the Revenue Minister’s recent statement denying accommodation to Pandit employees in Valley demanded that they be provided the same immediately.
KHC which met here today under the chairmanship of its president M L Thusoo expressed concern over the attitude of some of the mainstream political parties for encouraging political uncertainty in the Valley and also provoking sentiments of the masses.
He said instead of bringing masses into the mainstream these parties play electoral politics, tricks to achieve their vested interests.
He said some times they talk about autonomy, some other time softening bonds, plebiscite and double currency etc.
He urged the UPA to review its Kashmir policy as political parties including some mainstream organizations misled and exploit them for their vested interests.
P L Koul Badgami stressed on strengthening the present socio political scenario for protecting unity and integration of the State and the interests of the Indian nation.
