AIIMS Coordination Committee tears into ungrateful BJP

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 17: Tearing into the State BJP leadership for its spurious charge that AIIMS Coordination Committee is sponsored by some defeated political parties, Chairman, Coordination Committee for AIIMS and President JKHCBA, Jammu, Adv Abhinav Sharma today appealed to the general public of Jammu Province, as also, all the political parties active in Jammu to make the proposed 72 hour long Bandh a grand success.
While addressing a gathering at the venue of chain hunger strike today Mr Sharma ridiculed the BJP leadership and said that its stands completely exposed as neither the Prime Minister nor the Union Finance Minister on Tuesday announced AIIMS for Jammu. He said the Coordination Committee was fully aware of the BJP’s dirty-tricks which did everything during the past few days to puncture and defeat the ongoing mass movement in Jammu for the establishment of AIIMS and completion of artificial lake project over River Tawi. “The repeated announcements in Jammu by various BJP ministers that AIIMS will be announced for Jammu on Tuesday turned out to be a mere hoax as none of the competent authorities in New Delhi uttered a word on the issue that has put the people of Jammu region on warpath,” said Abhinav Sharma and added that “the AIIMS Coordination Committee will not take rest until it achieved its stated goals.”
Sharma further charged the BJP with not only handing over all the crucial departments to the PDP on a platter but also excluded Jammu from those departments which are charged with the responsibility of dealing with internal security of the State. He said it has happened for the first time that people of Jammu, who had been fighting a pro-India ideological war against the anti-National forces in the Valley, was kept out of the departments dealing with internal security.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu president Rakesh Gupta also addressed the gathering at the venue of chain-hunger strike, and warned the authorities that their indifferent attitude towards the genuine demands of the people of Jammu Province could lead to a serious law and order situation in the Province. He regretted that the two complete bandhs and one massive Torch light procession in Jammu couldn’t move the biased and insensitive authorities. “The people of Jammu region had never expected that the BJP will ditch and cheat those who voted overwhelmingly for the party both in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The BJP will fail to win even a single seat in Jammu Province in case it continued to harm the legitimate political, economic and social interests of the people of Jammu Province,” Rakesh Gupta said and added that the BJP has everything to win and nothing to loose by following a courageous policy aimed at meeting the needs and aspirations of its core constituency without harming the genuine interests of the people of Kashmir.
