JAMMU, June 9: The AIIMS Coordination Committee had hoped that the very largely participated candle light protest march in Jammu on June 5 will move the adamant and rigid PDP-BJP collation Government and announce that the sanctioned AIIMS for Jammu will be established in Jammu, but the hope stands completely belied, said Abhinav Sharma, Chairman Coordination Committee today, adding that the Coordination Committee is now fully convinced that the collation is for confrontation and not for amicable settlement of the issue.
In a statement issued here today he said the AIIMS Coordination Committee was never for an agitational approach as all of its members are highly responsible and alive to their duties and responsibilities towards the people and the State but it is the uncompromising collation Government that has put the people of Jammu province on warpath to achieve their demands — establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and early completion of Tawi artificial Lake project.
Abhinav Sharma also announced that as per the June, 6 decision of the Coordination Committee, the committee will start a chain hunger strike from Friday June 12,2015 onwards to awake the authorities from their deep slumber and get the demands considered. He said that the AIIMS Coordination Committee which enjoys unflinching support of all non political organizations including social organizations is determent to take the ongoing agitation for AIIMS and Artificial Lake to its logical conclusion at whatever cost and added that the authorities would be responsible if the AIIMS Coordination Committee takes some radicals steps to get its demand fulfilled.
