AICC Secy asks workers to gear up for LS polls

JAMMU, Feb 21:
Secretary AICC and Incharge J&K Affairs Mainul Haque (MLA) who is on tour of Rajouri and Poonch district held series of meetings and reviewed the organizational affairs of the party. Mr. Haque was accorded rousing reception at Sunderbani, Rajouri and Poonch on his arrival where senior leaders of the party and Sarpanchs, Panchs and workers attended the meetings and held interactions. He is accompanied by PCC leaders Thakur Hari Singh- Vice President; Ravinder Sharma-MLC; Farooq Andrabi & Dr. Rashid Choudhary general secretary. Addressing party meetings Mr. Haque asked them to gear up for the coming Lok Sabha elections and organize the units at grass root level to propagate the policies and programmes of the Congress party. He asked party workers to counter the propaganda of communal and divisive forces who are bent upon to harm the social and secular fabric of this nation for their vested interests. The Congress party has a history of sacrifices to protect the secular ideals, unity and integrity of the nation. He said that UPA 1st and IInd has done commendable job on all fronts and country witnessed large scale development in every sphere of life, The Right to Information (RTl) is the biggest tool in the hand of every common citizen to know about everything and expose the misdeeds and corruption. He said that a project for Jammu-Poonch railway line is under consideration of the Government of India and as per survey it is proposed to be of over Rs 13,612 crores. He said that achievement of 73rd Amendment in the State Panchayati Raj Act and creation of administrative units need to be explained the people to counter false propaganda of other parties.
