AIBOMEF demands govt undertaking of BOM

AURANGABAD,Maharashtra,Sept 14:All India Banks of Maharashtra Employees Federation (AIBOMEF) member Com Devidas Tuljapurkar on Saturday asserted that even though the Bank of Maharastra (BOM) carries its name, the state government has never owned this Bank, a statement said.
The above issue was represented by the present Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis when he was in opposition, but has conveniently forgotten now, he told the media on the occasion of 85th foundation day on September 16.
He alleged that even though the financials of this Bank were strong it did not grow in size as government it does not share its resources in proportion, despite being the first in the implementation of all government initiatives.
BOM operates with branch network of about 1832 throughout the country of which 1115 branches are in the state of Maharashtra.
The Bank was established in the year 1935 with the initiative from Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Mr Tuljapurkar added.
