JAMMU, Dec 7: J&K State Unit of AIBOC held demonstration at SBI Administrative Office Complex at Rail Head, here today.
The demonstration was attended by a large gathering of officers working the Public Sector Bank branches and offices in Jammu.
The gathering was addressed by Satish Khajuria, State President and Suresh Wali, State Secretary.
While speaking, Suresh Wali, State Secretary castigated the Indian Banking Association (IBA) for its lackadaisical attitude towards the wage revision talks and emphasized the need to hold speedy and serious negotiations with United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) for early resolution of the demands.
He warned the IBA that it will be squarely responsible for the inconvenience caused to the public and the loss caused to the banking industry as a result of the agitation which will escalate into strike action scheduled for December 21 and 26.
“Banking industry is otherwise passing through a turbulent phase in view of mounting NPAs resulting in huge losses and an adverse industrial relation is bound to put additional pressure on the scant resources of the bank”, Khajuria added.
He expressed the hope that the Government of India and the IBA would see reason and commence early discussions to resolve all outstanding issues amicably.
