RAJOURI, Nov 21: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) held a one day conference at Sunderbani near here today under the chairmanship of Madan Puri. State president of the Union, Abdul Majid Malik was the chief guest on the occasion.
Taking serious note of the style of functioning of the coalition Government Madan Puri took BJP to task for keeping the demand of OBCs in limbo.
He said already various boards have been constituted while State OBC Board is yet to be constituted.
He, while holding coalition responsible for the same said that BJP which has maximum seats from Jammu region has not shown any interest till date in constituting the State OBC Board.
The other speakers demanded implementation of Mandal Commission report in toto in J&K and termed it a great injustice with them. It said the Party has made a commitment in this regard with OBCs during elections.
Abdul Majid Malik in his address took Government to task for the plight of OBCs in the State saying no concrete steps have been taken in enhancement of creamy layer form 4.5 lakh to six lakh, renewal of OSC certificate on income basis instead of caste basis, issuance of one certificate on the name of OBC etc.
Prof Kali Dass criticized the OBC leaders of different political parties for their failure in raising the issues confronting to OBCs in the State. He said they failed to provide justice to OBCs in the State and did noting for implementation of Mandal Commission report of 27 percent reservations.
Capt (retd) Ramesh Kumar and other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
