JAMMU, Feb 23: Ahmadiya Muslim Jamat Jammu organised 6th peace symposium/ conference on the topic, ‘ Fundamentals of establishing lasting peace with its abiding motto of love for all hatred for none’ here today.
Advisor K K Sharma was the chief guest, while a large number of prominent citizens, social activists, academicians, bureaucrats, young professionals and students attended the programme. Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof Manoj Dhar and Daleep Kumar- SSP ACB were the guests of honour while Sheeraz Ahmed, All India Deputy Head of Ahmadiya Muslim Jamat, presided over the conference.

The programme commended with the reciting of verses from Holy Quran by Dr Fareed Ahmed Mir. Thereafter, a short documentary of world wide head of Ahmadiya Muslim community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmed was shown in which Hazrat Mirza while addressing said that the world today is passing through very turbulent time and being a global community and purely Islamic organization with its firm objective to establish global peace, we consider it as our first and fore most duty to guide the world towards peace, because Islam is a religion of peace and harmony.
Advisor K K Sharma, Vice Chancellor JU, Prof Manoj Dhar and oher dignitaries appreciated the role played by Ahmadiya Muslim Jamat through out the world for peace and harmony besides various charitable works for the welfare of the needy and deserving people. The community has set a trend for others and and is a role model for others. A message on behalf of Lt Governor, G C Murmu was also read out by the Advisor on the occasion.
Several social activists/ workers who are contributing and serving humanity in Jammu and Kashmir were felicitated for rendering exemplary services to the society.
Earlier, Gohar Hafeez Fani, gave a brief introduction of Ahmadiya Muslim community and various initiatives taken by Jamat for establishment of peace and harmony in the country and UT of J&K.
Prominent among those present included- SS Bijral, ID Soni, SK Jain, SS Sodhi, Amit Sharma, Dr Ravi and Tariq Ahmed.
